Toys pt.2

In the concluding half of my mini series on lubricant and toys, I wanted to focus–as promised–on the subject of lubricants that go well with toys.

There are two things to consider when buying a lubricant specifically for use with toys.

The foremost is to check that the lubricant does not contain an ingredient that will be harmful to your toy.

Next you want to consider that because your partner will be a toy, you might experiment with a lubricant you wouldn’t normally use. Although, if you toys with your partner this point is, of course, moot.

Finally, lubricants for use with toys tend to be thicker than the average lubricant.

Toys. Pt. 1

There are specialty lubricants made especially for play with toys, and in beginning to research a post about these specialty lubricants, I began to wonder if there might be such a thing as a self-lubricating toy out there. My idea was a toy that would have a tube of lubricant inside itself, which could be excreted from within when the toy was squeezed or triggered somehow. My research didn’t prove very successful. Sex dolls tend to advertise lubricated orifices. However, the physics of lubrication suggest to me that this must be a false claim. How could anything remain perpetually lubricated. This concept seems to me to be the perpetual motion machine of the lubricant world, and we should assume—until its proved otherwise—that these dolls are more lubricatable than lubricated. Thus my ultimate conclusion is that, no, there aren’t self-lubricating toys. So we shall continue to have to apply lubricant ourselves. Fortunately, however, there are special lubricants design just for this purpose. More on these next time.
