Dear readers, This is to be my final post for a while. Please feel free, though, to write into the blog with any personal lubricant questions or comments during the abeyance.

Personal Lubricant and the Female Orgasm: 2 Perspectives.

Filed Under Ingredients, Intimacy, Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

When it comes to personal lubricant there are those of us who, like that hedonic calculator Jeremy Bentham before us, have a lube-tilitarian perspective. In the lube-tilitarian perspective the Means are set aside in favor of a focus on the Ends personal lubricant can achieve. The primary End is, of course, orgasm. In the case of the female orgasm, I am struck that there seem to be two camps on how Lubricant achieves the orgasmic end. The first camp goes the way of ice, championing the lubricant that desensitizes the penis. The idea being that longer the male orgasm is postponed, the greater the female’s chances of orgasm are. The other camp prefers fire, championing warming lubricants. Here the female orgasm is encouraged by the warmth of the lube. It has always been clear to me that this lubricant dichotomy is the essence of what Robert Frost wants to express in his immortal poem, “Fire and Ice.”

Some say the world will end in fire;
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.
